Easter Sunday 2010 03/30/2010
Ten years from now I wonder what I will say about Easter Sunday 2010. The view of this weekend to come is currently filled with hope and excitement. This past week we had our first service in our new location, and it was awesome. We had nearly 200 people in attendance at this preview service, and this was without specifically inviting anyone. We are expecting God to blow the top off of things this week at our Grand Opening, but I am recognizing it is all on other people's shoulders. First and foremost, God in His infinite power will be the source of our hope. We have all been praying and pleading to God that He will move in our church and I am confident that He will do His part. Secondly, I am reminded that we have significantly placed our trust in our people to be missionaries in their circles of responsibility. I hope that if you are reading this, and are a part of our church family, that you have been making significant investments in the people that God has placed on your heart. My prayer is that you will take advantage of this opportunity to invite those folks to one of the two worship services this weekend. We will only have this day once and it is literally a once in a lifetime chance for all of us. Last Sunday I gave a few goals for each of us to shoot for and here they are one more time:
Ten years from now I hope that I will tell the story this way, "On Easter 2010 our church family took seriously the idea of being missionaries in their own personal circles, and our church began to impact our community with the gospel of Jesus Christ in a way that we have never turned away from since that hallowed Sunday ten years ago."
